Hazard Maps for Floods, Fire, and Earthquake

Flood:





All first floor of homes will get flooded. The damage of homes and stores will depend on the volume of flood. Roads will be blocked due to water and debris. The barangay manages flood very easily. It takes about 30 minutes to one hour for the flood to subside. There will be a hard time evacuating the people, because there is no designated evacuation building for people to evacuate. The local government supports the community by providing safety kits, and the government responds to damage quickly. There will be emotional distress for the people who have lost or damage their homes. Since floods subside easily, people can repair their property and move on with their lives.

Fire:




Houses that are made of weak and poor materials such as wood will be easily affected.  The fire easily spread to other infrastructures. Houses are also very close to each other which make the fire spread easily. The barangay improves the structure of houses and makes sure that it is made of materials that cannot be burned. Vulnerabilities concerning the social and organizational approach of the people cannot be applied since fires happen occasionally. Fire trucks and the rescue team arrive right away. Vulnerabilities concerning the motivational and attitudinal approach of the people cannot be applied since all of the residents within the barangay are participating. All the residents help each other in order to put out the fire immediately.

Earthquake:




Infrastructures especially houses with a weak structure are more likely to be affected during an earthquake. Improvement of the structures of houses and other buildings. Class suspensions for several days and destroyed houses affect the shelter of many people. Enough safety kits to be distributed to the residents. Incorrigible attitude of the barangay and other residents to the effect s of the earthquake.
